About the TeacherHello! I am Ashley Legault, and I am a new teacher at Chatelech Secondary. I graduated from the University of Victoria's Secondary School Post Degree Professional Program with a Bachelor of Education back in June 2015, but completed my education program in December 2014, and I have been fully certified as a teacher since January 2015. My teaching areas are Social Studies (with a history focus) and English, which were my major and minor respectively. I completed my first practicum at St. Andrews Regional High School in Victoria, British Columbia where I taught Social Studies 10 and 11. My second practicum was completed at Elphinstone Secondary School. I taught English 8, English 11, and Social Studies 9. I have worked in the district as a substitute and classroom teacher for a few years now and I have a lot of experience with all different grades and subject areas. I am going into my fourth year in School District 46.
I am an avid reader and I love to write creative pieces, mostly prose. My favourite historical period is the Tudor England era and it is closely followed by World War One and World War Two. However, I find most areas of history incredibly fascinating. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I will respond to all email correspondence as soon as I can, but if you send the email very early in the morning or very late at night, it might take me a little while to get back to you. |
