Today was our last day of English 8 with Ms. Legault. After today you will meet with Ms. Sheridan in room 112. We watched the rest of the movie.

We finished reading the book by reading the eleventh and twelfth chapters of the book. After that we went over the format of our quiz on the book. It will consist of two parts: a short answer and a paragraph answer. For the paragraph answer you are allowed to bring a half page (one sided) of notes on one of the characters from the book. You are going to be writing a character sketch, which means you will be discussing the character's appearance, personality, character background, and how they contributed to the events of the book in a minimum of five (5) sentences. You can choose almost any character from the books, but be careful not to choose someone with not enough information about them. After we went over the potential for what will be on the quiz, we had time to catch up on work. The quiz is on January 24th. The Outsiders question booklet is also due on January 24th.

We got a new spelling list today. The quiz will be on Friday. We went over our corrections for the dialogue activity we did last class. Then we wrote a descriptive setting paragraph about somewhere we are very familiar with. It had to be a minimum of five sentences and had to use adjectives and imagery.
