We did an anticipation guide. We learned about Jack London. Then we read "To Build a Fire." Finally we did the after reading section of the anticipation guide, which is to be handed in."

We talked about WW Jacobs. Then we read "The Monkey's Paw." After reading the story, we finished up our free write by adding how our wishes could be corrupted in a negative fashion. Then we answered some response questions about the story.

Today, we worked on a collaborative dialogue writing activity. You had to get a pair from Ms. Legault and then work on creating a scene of dialogue between the two characters with a partner. If you missed the class, you can work on it by yourself and do 10 lines of dialogue (5 for each character) instead of the 20 (10 for each character) that the pairs had to do. The instructions can be found in the image file below.
