Today, we learned about some different features of poetry. Then we read two poems, "The Raven" and "The End of the Raven", and identified key features of them. Then we compared the two poems, looking for similarities and differences.

We wrote a haiku (with an added tanka) and a limerick. There was time to catch up on missed work nad also to work on the project.

We played a kahoot of literary devices. Then we defined poetry. We analyzed the poem "Introduction to Poetry" by Billy Collins. Finally we wrote an acrostic poem based off the name. If you finished early there was time to work on your project or to catch up on other work. If all finished, there was more time to silent read.
